Almost every bloggers makes a Facebook Fan Page for his blogs or products. Facebook Fan Pages are brandable and brings a lot of interaction between your readers. It is much more enabled in connectivity than MyBlogLog Communities which was a previous option.
We brand our Facebook Fan pages with logos, relative details and do whatever we can to bring in new fans. But a major customization I feel many bloggers do miss is giving their Facebook Profile or their Facebook Fan Page an username.
A Fan Page URL usually looks like facebook.com/pages/Word-Tweeting/242994153504 which is obviously not brandable. How about something like facebook.com/youblogname ? This could be much better. Facebook allows you to change the slug to your page by giving it an username.
For this, you have to go to the Facebook Manage Usernames page and select the profile or fan page your want to allot a username slug. Enter your desired slug and after an availability check, it will be alloted to your page.
Currently, for Facebook Fan Pages there is a limit of minimum 25 fans to qualify for a custom username as their Fan Page slug. Also, once alloted you cannot change the username of your page, it is done to keep the quality of service.
